Because It Is Raining...

...I started thinking about Seattle.
Which made me think of the amazing trip Erik and I took to Seattle a few years ago. That was so much fun. We spent the weekend walking around, eating, sight seeing, and checking out cool restaurants and bars. I love Seattle so much. I think it  has all the big city feel while also having a low key factor to it. I loved eating sushi, then walking through the outdoor market and hanging out on the monorail. Maybe Erik and I should take another trip up there, or perhaps just spend a day sightseeing in Portland trying not to worry about the day-to-day stresses of our lives. Hmmm. I'll have to talk to Erik.

Art Work

My classroom at work needs to change often so that the kids are excited about coming to school. At age 2, kids are very visual so I try to be as colorful and inviting with my craftiness. Until I started working in my own classroom I was very hesitant about making artwork or crafts because I feel I have very little artistic talent. But since I now work in such a creative enviroment, I am so much more willing to try and be artistic. So, I thought I would share a few pieces of art I recently did for my classroom! Pardon the pictures, they're from my phone camera and not very good.

Ode To Coffee

Coffee, you taste so good.
You instantly put in me in a better mood.
You take my headaches away,
and make me want to jump and play.
I can't wait to drink you up,
and treat myself to another cup.

Bad week, but I am happy it is Thursday.

I loooooove my....

siblings...
I am so lucky to have these three people in my life. I think that God makes sure that certain people come into your life and I am so lucky that he gave me, not only my amazing parents and husband, but these three people who make my life complete. My siblings are my soul mates.
We really have become best friends and I would do anything for them. Since September, the three of them have been living in Eugene, Santa Clara, and Alaska while they left me here in Beaverton. I miss them so much everyday and I cannot believe how much I have been in withdrawl since they left.
Amazing People.
I love you three so much!
Thank you for always being here for me and making my life amazing.

Word of the Day Wednesday

Kangaroo-
–noun, plural -roos, ( especially collectively ) -roo.

any herbivorous marsupial of the family Macropodidae, of Australia and adjacent islands, having a small head, short forelimbs, powerful hind legs used for leaping, and a long, thick tail: several species are threatened or endangered.

My sister Jessyka, from Let's Talk About Beer,  is reading the book Blue Latitude by Tony Horwitz, writes about Captin Cook in his book, saying: '"It was of a light mouse color and the full size of the greyhound, and shaped in every respect like one. I would've taken it for a wild dog, but for its walking or running in which it jumped like a hare or a dear." Unsure of what to call this odd beast Cook refered to it as "the animal" later he inserted the native word which he rendered "kanguru"'

This is very interesting as are Kangaroos.

With the weather being so rainy and cold today, it made me really wish I was curled up with a book and a blanket in a window seat watching the rain. I will have to add this to the list of necessities for Erik and my future dream house!
Can't wait to have one of those...

Sooo.. I might need to set up a holiday mantel and decorate my parents house to my heart's content. I love the holidays and Crate & Barrel of course!
