bored

I am bored.
I don't really understand how everyone loves summer vacation.

My internship ended and school doesn't start for 2 more weeks.... and my real job won't start till december...

Now, I know you're all thinking... why is she complaining about having time off and nothing to do?

Well... I am BORED.

I wish I had a house or garden to work on... or that my husband would be on break so we could go on vacation...

but instead I am just at home alone being bored.

Oh well, enough complaining about what other people would die for... BUT...

This is what I would be doing if I could....

Building a dream home...

Planting and tending to a herb garden...

touring Italy with Erik...

sitting on a porch at the beach reading a book and drinkin wine...

Where do you wish you were??

Health

Recently, I have been having a lot of health issues and have had to go to the doctor a few times, and while I am not going to elaborate past that on here.. bascially I have been feeling horrible. My doctor asked me to start keeping a food jounral to see if anything can be alleviated by cutting out any particular food or drink. So I have been doing this for about a week and I have realized that I eat very poorly. I used to be a vegetarian.. well almost, I have always eaten fish. But I stopped doing that about a year ago when Erik and I first moved in together because I didn't want to have to make tw different dinners. But, Erik is great, and told me he doesn't mind eating mostly vegetarian again. So, I am thinking I might need to go back to that. (I will REALLY miss buffalo wings... for some reason they are pretty much the only meat food I love).

So, here I go. Also, I have been looking into cutting my caffeine intake because I am not sure it makes me feel good and also cutting down on gluten. So, here is an experiment that I am willing to try. First things first, I need to figure out a plan for grocery shopping where I don't just buy everything I think looks good, but instead go in there with my weekly plans set out. And, I need to start eating a better breakfast, exercising, doing yoga, cutting down on alcohol, and setting up a sleep schedule. All of this will come easier once I start work again and have a set time to arrive at work. But I need to start now so that the transition is easier.

So. Wish. Me. Luck.

Life Quotations...

This quote is very interesting to me. It, in a way, tells us that we need to just roll with the punches and let life take its way with us. But does this really make sense? Is this saying that we should not have a life plan? Not try our best at the things that we feel are important because the plan has already been set out for us? I don't know about anyone else, but lately, I have been worried about all of this. I am worried about just letting things happen and just hoping and praying that everything works out.

For my whole life I have been pretty go with the flow, just having a good time and hoping that everything would work out. But now that I am married, I cannot even imagine just hoping everything will work out... for example, people who believe that you will have kids when you are meant to. Does that mean that you don't have a say in when that is? that you are not supposed to take precautions? I, for one, along with Erik think that that is something that needs to be strategically planned. As does, work, school, and life in general.

Yeah, some things should be left up to chance, but if you leave everything left up to chance... will you end up with nothing? unless you happen to be lucky?

I am not trying to be a doubter or pretend to know anything about fate and life plans. But I am scared to think that we are just supposed to surrender completly and just wait for things to happen to us. Maybe I am reading into all of this wrong. But, Hmm.. maybe I do just need to wait and pray on it and hope everything works out.

Hmm...
We'll see what happens.

Running

I used to run, exercise, try to stay healthy.
And then I started getting lazy and as many people know. Once you stop exercising for a while, it is really hard to start again. Also, I am the type of person who psychs myself out instead of just working out. I always think about how cold it is and about how last time I felt short of breath.. So. I got a Nike plus to count my miles to help me feel motivated by actually knowing how much I get done. And I signed up for dailymile, where you can talk with others about your workouts, or even just see that other people are doing it. So can I!

So here goes. Starting tomorrow I will do exercise besides yoga.
I will go running.. and I put a mile counter on my blog, so I am embarass myself into working out more.. I mean, you guys would judge me if I quit.. right? :)

Wish me luck!
Is anyone else starting new exercise plans?

End of Bed Benches

So, being in Orlando, we are staying at a Hilton
that at the end of every bed there is a bench. It has made me realize that in our future master bedroom... we must have a bench at the end of the bed. Not only is it convenient to sit on, but it makes the room look so much more glamorous! I love it!

P.S. I love the patterned ones... but I am not sure I would rock those. Maybe a white one, I am all about white linens and furniture in the bedroom... calm and fabulous.

I love Exposed Brick!
I think exposed brick is so amazing. It adds so much character to the room. I hope that some day I will have exposed brick in my kitchen... my bedroom.. my living room... I mean.. a girl can dream.

p.s. sorry I have been a slacker on my blog. I have been so stressed and busy and it has just taken a back seat. So, I hope to do better! Have a great Thursday!

Life Changes

It is insane how much your life can change in one week. Last week I found out that I got an internship at Intel Corporation in accounting which is an extremely exciting opportunity that I hope will transform into a career when the summer is over. Then I got in a car accident and my car was totaled. The car I have had since I started driving 8 years ago. Then, I put my notice in at work so that I can brush up on all my accounting before my internship starts. It is crazy how much stress and relief all of this is bringing me at the same time and how much it has overwhelmed me. I cannot wait until it all simmers down so it can actually sink in. Ah!

Thinking of getting a Dodge Challenger to replace my car... What do you think?

His and Hers Sinks

I love his and hers sinks. I think it is such a cute idea to think about getting ready next to each other in the morning in peace instead of leaning over Erik brushing his teeth so I can do my mascara. I think all three of these bathrooms will probably be contestants for dream home bathrooms.

Happy Friday!

Interior Design: Blues

A friend of mine is in the process of maybe having a home with her fiance and asked me to help decorate the inside! I am sooo excited! I love picking out cool inspiration pictures then trying to make the room similar on a very low budget! Here are some inspirational pictures I think she would like!

Maybe not.. but I know she loves blue and I love these rooms! :)

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Recently, Erik and I decided we want to visit Santa Fe, New Mexico or somewhere close to there for our one year anniversary trip. I really want to check it out because neither of us has ever been there. Doesn't it look amazing?

Has anyone ever been there?

And if so, How is it?

New Year, New Plans!

So, 2010 was an amazing time for me! It is going to be so hard to top it!

 This year I...

  • Got Engaged on New Years Eve
  • Got Married in September
  • Vacationed in Hawaii
  • Got to see my extended family three different times!
  • Started school again
  • Watched Erik start Chiropractic school!
  • Was a bridesmaid in my older sister's wedding
But, 2011 I have so much hope for you... Erik and I drove back from the beach where we went to celebrate my sister's wedding and the whole way back we talked about the things we want to do during the new year. Usually we make the mistake of making all our plans too vague and therefore hard to accomplish or know when they are accomplished. So this year we are trying to be more detailed on the plans.

Here are some we came up with:

  • Travel to New Mexico for our one year anniversary trip
  • Take more day trips to go hiking or wine tasting
  • Cook at home more (make pies, yummy one dish dinners, and homemade granola)
  • Hold hands when we're having an argument
  • Go to the wildlife safari (We've been talking about it since our first month together)
  • Play more games instead of watching television

Here's to an amazing new year!

Kitchens

I think about my future kitchen probably way more than any normal person does.
I think that kitchens are sooo important to family life.
I want ours to be big and open and have a breakfast bar and island!
I love this bottom kitchen so much I wish I could just make it appear.
Ah I cannot wait till Erik and I build a family and a home!
