New Year, New Plans!

I grabbed this picture from another blog I was reading..
My Kind Of Crazy.
I think heading into the New Year, it is especially important to remember all we have already. When you are trying to make 2012 the best year it can be... make sure to be thankful for everything you already have, because people, we are the lucky ones.
Happy New Year and God Bless! :)
p.s. don't drink and drive!

Holiday Favorites
So... first to clarify.. O couldn't think of more than 11 for 25 before 25... So it is still a work in progress! My sister already added one.. We are going to learn how to play Taylor Swift songs on the guitar... then become international superstars of course. :) And my bro thinks I should learn German.. hmmm... Do they speak german in other places than Germany? I have heard that once you learn one second language that it is easier to pick up even more... hmmmm. So keep these ideas coming!
But today.... I am thinking.... what are your favorite Christmas Albums and Christmas Movies?
I have found that life is better when listening to Christmas albums and watching Christmas movies.
what are your faves??

fill in the blank friday...
1. The holiday season is usually starts with a time of stress and craziness then ends up melting into a time where you can just realx and enjoy family. This year, Erik and I are starting off the holiday right by going on vacation just the two of us. It will be nice to spend some time with my little family before partaking in all the extended family get togethers.
2. Snow makes me happy. It just looks so pretty! But... here in Portland, OR, you pretty much are stuck if you live on any type of hill. Once the snow starts falling... you hope the temp rises so you only are stuck in your house for one day..
3. The best comfort food to eat when it's cold out is pasta! I love whipping up a huge pot of yummy pasta sauce then eating it over a couple days. Nothing like homemade pasta sauce, noodles, and garlic bread!
4. Winter is the best time for scarves and mittens and layers. I love how during the winter, you have to try to figure out a way to be stylish but still kep yourself warm. I loveeee scarves and pretty slouchy hats and sweaters .
5. I can hardly wait for date night tonight with Erik and our trip to Austin! It will be our first time adventuring together to a place neither of us has been. And tonight! we are going to fancy dinner downtown then a movie. Can't wait!
6. When it comes to holiday gifts I prefer to make them! This year I am making a lot of my gifts and I am so excited to see hwo they turn out. Hopefully well so I don't have to go on a shopping spree the night before to make up for ugly presents. :) .
7. If I were to rate my excitement about the holiday season on a scale from 1-10, I would say I am at about a 10! First year that I know I will be graduated and in a good paying job after so I can actually spend money to make gifts and relax knowing that I don't have to go back to school in January and worry about all those expenses. YAY!

fill in the blank friday...
1. What I love most about my home is the way that when you are here, nothing matters as much. You can be sitting on the couch reading a book or watching a movie and not feel lazy. Also, I love my bedroom that my husband painted gray for me and I got to spruce up with a large with mirror and beautiful linens.
2. I'm excited because, it is Friday, my cousin and uncle will be here tonight, and I am throwing a mothers day dinner/ get together party on Sunday and using MarthaStewart.com for inspiration! I hope it turns out looking as good as it does in my head!
3. My preferred method for blowing off steam when I'm frustrated is to be completely honest, usually I pick fights with my husband. But it usually works out because then once he calms me down, because he is an amazing man, we go on a date or he helps me make dinner.
4. Currently I am craving warm weather... It was nice for a few random days here but now it is back to the cloudy skies and mid-50s. I want sun and heat!
5. The thing I love most about my mom is I love how my mom can be doing a million things and still thinking a million things at the same time. I think it is amazing how much she loves her family and how no matter how much she has going on in her own life she is still thinking about all of us constantly and how she can make our lives easier. Also, she has a great sense of humor. Love you mom!
6. If I was going to write a book about my life, the title would be "The Happiness Experiment", because I am trying everyday to figure out how to no matter what... be happy! Because, the world gets everyone down, and I wasn't born an optimist, so I strive to be one! :)
7. If I were to eat one thing for the rest of eternity it would be Tomatoes... But that might be hard if I had nothing to eat them with. I think it would be vegetables and tomatoes. Or pasta with tomatoes, or chips and fresh salsa... Oh man, I don't think I could ever just eat one thing for the rest of my life. I love food way too much!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Easter Inspiration
So recently, I have been at home doing work toward studying and homework and I have realized that I need more than that to keep me sane. So, I have decided that I need to plan our Easter dinner celebration. I am excited. Here is some inspiration!

Happy Valentine's Day
I am so excited for our first married Valentine's Day! We are going to make sushi and drink a bottle of wine that we bought while wine tasting with our friend's Jenny and Scott. Then we are going to lounge on the couch and watch the Bachelor! So Excited!

New Year, New Plans!
So, 2010 was an amazing time for me! It is going to be so hard to top it!
This year I...
- Got Engaged on New Years Eve
- Got Married in September
- Vacationed in Hawaii
- Got to see my extended family three different times!
- Started school again
- Watched Erik start Chiropractic school!
- Was a bridesmaid in my older sister's wedding
But, 2011 I have so much hope for you... Erik and I drove back from the beach where we went to celebrate my sister's wedding and the whole way back we talked about the things we want to do during the new year. Usually we make the mistake of making all our plans too vague and therefore hard to accomplish or know when they are accomplished. So this year we are trying to be more detailed on the plans.
Here are some we came up with:
- Travel to New Mexico for our one year anniversary trip
- Take more day trips to go hiking or wine tasting
- Cook at home more (make pies, yummy one dish dinners, and homemade granola)
- Hold hands when we're having an argument
- Go to the wildlife safari (We've been talking about it since our first month together)
- Play more games instead of watching television
Here's to an amazing new year!

Happy Friday!
Today is a big day. I got off work early, so I am going to go Christmas shopping! Then all the ladies from my family and Jessyka's in-laws are going to a spa day! I am not entirely sure what this entails but I am pretty sure that manicures and champagne are involved and that works for me! Then... I am going to a holiday cocktail party! I cannot wait!
Happy Friday, Everyone!

Holiday Favorites
- The tree and other decorations being lit and glittering when you walk down the stairs first thing in the morning.
- How much more often people want to sit around and just talk or play board games instead of watching television.
- That all my siblings are all in the same city.
- All the holiday drinks at coffee shops.
- How everyone just seems so much more cheery... (or really pissed off). Emotions run really high during the holidays.
- How everything is decorated to the nines. Either it be colorful ornaments or white snowflake decor. I love it all.
- Seasonal Beer selection (especially Ebenezer and Sleigher)
- Christmas Carols
- Candy Canes and Christmas cookies
- Christmas themed movies that only come out during December!
I am sure there are many more things I love that I just cannot think of right now... But I love the holidays!
What is your favorite thing about the holidays?

Holidays
Beautiful Holiday Mantel. This will be Erik and my first Christmas as the Reeds and so I am very excited for it! I wish we would be living in our own place, but its not what is best for us right now. Sooo.. I might need to set up a holiday mantel and decorate my parents house to my heart's content. I love the holidays and Crate & Barrel of course!

Decorating Update
I realized I never put up a picture of the new way our fireplace is decorated! Finally put the mirror up about 5 months ago and it looks great! Awesome.
