Word of the Day Wednesday

Kangaroo-
–noun, plural -roos, ( especially collectively ) -roo.

any herbivorous marsupial of the family Macropodidae, of Australia and adjacent islands, having a small head, short forelimbs, powerful hind legs used for leaping, and a long, thick tail: several species are threatened or endangered.

My sister Jessyka, from Let's Talk About Beer,  is reading the book Blue Latitude by Tony Horwitz, writes about Captin Cook in his book, saying: '"It was of a light mouse color and the full size of the greyhound, and shaped in every respect like one. I would've taken it for a wild dog, but for its walking or running in which it jumped like a hare or a dear." Unsure of what to call this odd beast Cook refered to it as "the animal" later he inserted the native word which he rendered "kanguru"'

This is very interesting as are Kangaroos.
